How to activate your new card

To keep the card working and all services running without interruption as before, you need to take a few simple steps.

Check where your card is stored

  • Before activating the new card, write down a list of places where your current card is stored (e.g. mobile wallets, subscriptions, e-shops and other applications).
  •  Once you activate your new card, you will no longer be able to access your old data.

Activate your new card

  • You can easily activate the card with the first payment at a merchant or by withdrawing money from an ATM. Just insert it into a POS terminal or ATM and type your PIN.
  • You can also activate the card in mobile or internet banking. You can then start contactless payments with the first transaction by inserting the card into the POS terminal and typing your PIN.
  • Attention: Once you activate the new card, the old one will stop working, including all registrations for prepaid services and mobile wallets. From that moment on, you pay with the new card only.

Update the card details for subscriptions and online purchases

  • Change your payment details to the new card wherever your old card is saved, such as with Netflix, Spotify, HBO Max.
  • Also, don't forget about automated payments and other regular subscriptions.

Add the new card to all your devices and services

  • Mobile wallets like Apple Pay, Google Pay, RaiPay.

  • Contactless payment devices – watches, rings, bracelets, and other payment devices.

  • Online payment services, e.g. Click2Pay.

TIP for travellers: Attention with bookings

At check-in, some hotels, airlines or car rental companies may require the original card you used to make the booking. If you have booked with your original card, contact the provider in advance to update your details to your new Visa card.

Remember that once you activate the new card, the old one stops working. Update your details as soon as possible to avoid any complications on the go.
