Sabine Abfalter has become Raiffeisenbank's new CFO

Sabine Abfalter, one of the prominent figures in financial management in Central and Eastern Europe, has replaced Kamila Makhmudová as CFO and member of the Raiffeisenbank board.

An experienced auditor, tax advisor and certified accountant has built her career on a combination of regulatory expertise, transformation projects and management of complex financial structures.

She began her career at PwC, where she specialized in bank audits and regulatory projects. She gradually held management and partner positions in Austria and Germany and participated in building advisory teams focused on capital markets, accounting and finance. She also played a significant role in the implementation of IFRS international accounting standards and the management of international transformation projects for banking groups.

She moved to banking management in 2021, when she was involved in the transformation of group financial management with the aim of unifying processes, data and financial management across the group. Since 2022, was working as Group Chief Financial Officer, where she was responsible for the areas of accounting, financial reporting, controlling, taxes, treasury and loan portfolio management.

In addition to her executive role, she is a member of the supervisory boards of several financial institutions in Austria and the Central European region. Sabine Abfalter is a certified auditor and tax advisor, a member of the Austrian Chamber of Auditors and Tax Advisors.
