A check is a security which contains an unconditional order of the issuer of the check to the bank to pay the amount of the check, to be debited from the given account of the authorized owner (holder) of the check. The use of checks is governed by Act no. 191/1950 Coll. on bills of exchange and checks.
Raiffeisenbank mediates the deposit of bank and private checks which are valid in any domestic or foreign bank.
To deposit a check it is necessary to submit the original check, containing all legally mandated attributes. The check must also not exceed the deadline for its submission for payment.
The legal framework governing the check is determined by the country in which the issuer of the check is headquartered. The attributes of bank and personal checks depends on the pertinent legislation regarding checks according to the Geneva or Anglo-Saxon convention.
