Financing of Inventories Covered by Warehouse Warrants
The loan is for financing tradable commodities (e.g. oilseeds, cereals, …) handed over by the beneficiary of the loan – the warehouse services client – to the warehouse services provider for storage and holding, against confirmation issued by the warehouse services provider of the performance of these tasks in the form of a warehouse warrant.
Benefits
- Option of obtaining a loan for the purchase of commodities in a period when the price is advantageous.
- The loan can be secured by the inventories that are the subject of the finance.
- The source of repayments of the loan can be the client’s income from the sale of the financed inventories.
This financing is for companies that trade in commodities based on the warehouse warrants.
Drawing and repayment
- The limit on drawing of the loan is set at 80-90% of the nominal value of the stored inventories excluding VAT for which a warrant is issued.
- Financing can be drawn in the form of an overdraft.
- The source documents for drawing are, in particular:
- The original warrant with a first endorsement for Raiffeisenbank
- A copy of an invoice for the purchase of the goods specified on the warrant, and/or a copy of the purchase contract
- A copy of the contract on storage concluded with the warehouse services provider
- Insurance for the financed inventories blocked in the bank’s favour
- A document verifying the quantity and quality of the inventories specified on a warrant issued by a control company.
- The bank hands a warrant back to the client against the repayment of the loan. The source of repayments of the loan can be the income from the sale of the financed inventories.
Collateral
- Transfer of warrant to bank by endorsement.
- Security transfer of ownership rights to inventories of commodity.
- Blocking of insurance benefits in case of an insurance event and damage to the inventories.
